the "new with tags" filter — 14% of fashion buyers use it, most resellers never tick the box

1 in 7 Vinted fashion buyers filter by 'new with tags'. Most sellers never tick the box. Even when their item literally has the tags on.

Vinted has a condition filter, and "New with tags" is a top-three filter chip on the search results page. Approximately 14 percent of fashion buyers tick it during their session — buyers who specifically want unworn, original-tagged stock. That's a meaningful chunk of demand, and it's a chunk where the supply is small because most resellers default to "Very good" out of habit.

The kicker: charity-shop sourcing routinely includes tagged items. End-of-season clearance, returns donated unworn, brand donations — easily 15 to 20 percent of charity-shop hauls come through with original tags attached. Every one of those that goes up as "Very good" instead of "New with tags" is invisible to the buyer cohort that specifically wants it.

Two practical things. One, look at the actual item before you set condition — if the tags are on, the listing is "New with tags", regardless of how the item feels in your hand. Two, mention "tags attached" in the title or first line of the description as well, because buyers who don't filter still scan for it.

One, look at the actual item before you set condition — if the tags are on, the listing is "New with tags", regardless of how the item feels in your hand.

A "New with tags" item closes faster and at a higher price than a "Very good" item of the same brand. VintSnap reads the photo and will flag the tag detection — but it's worth checking, because a missed tag is a missed margin.
