The dose-change two-week grace period — when a new dose strength starts, switch to every-2-day logging for a fortnight, then drop back to weekly

Every time my dose changed, I went back to weekly logging straight away. Missed the two weeks where everything was actually different. Now I log every two days for a fortnight after any dose change.

The first two weeks after any dose change is the window where the most is happening — the routine is adjusting, the patterns from the previous dose are no longer reliable, and the patterns of the new dose haven't settled yet. Weekly logging averaged across that two-week window flattens out the texture that's actually there. The body doesn't change in week-sized steps; it changes in day-sized ones, especially in the adjustment phase.

Logging weekly through that means picking one day's data point to represent seven days that weren't homogenous, and the data point you pick depends on which day you happened to sit down with the journal — which introduces a bias you don't notice at the time but get confused by months later. The fix is a defined two-week grace period after every dose change. Switch the logging cadence to every other day — three or four entries per week — for two weeks from the date of the first dose at the new strength.

After the fortnight ends, drop back to the weekly default. Three things that grace period gives you. One.

You catch the adjustment-phase patterns explicitly — the day-three queasy that resolves by day-five, the energy dip mid-week, the sleep shift in week two — rather than averaging them into a single 'week one' entry that hides them. Two. Three. It's sustainable because it ends. A two-week sprint on a defined trigger is easier to sustain than a permanent step up in cadence, which is what most people try and then abandon within a month.

Organisational note: the dose change itself and what it means for your body is your prescriber's call. The logging cadence is your call — and matching it to what's actually happening is the practical bit.
