the pre-season window I almost missed

Listed a winter coat in August. 47 watchers in 12 hours. Same coat in October last year did nothing.

Buyers shop the season they're about to be in, not the one they're currently in. The bulk of winter-coat search traffic on Vinted lands in late August through September — not November when it's actually cold. By November the buyer's already bought one, from someone who listed in August.

I had this coat sat in a 'list later' pile from a December clearout. Listed it last week — 47 watchers inside 12 hours, sold by Sunday at full asking. The same coat was a £25 disappointment in October last year.

The stock didn't change. The window did. Same logic for swimwear in March, summer dresses in April, kids' uniform in July.

List 6 weeks ahead of when buyers actually need it. VintSnap clears the bottleneck of writing 30 pre-season listings in one evening.

the listing was slow, so the sales were slow, so I lost heart — the flywheel that looked like laziness

listing doesn't fail because it's hard — it fails because *starting* is hard (the bag by the door)
