Lanyard

Every lead you scan is saved before your phone says a word.

Lanyard captures badges and business cards at your stand: offline, with no account, in a single tap. Then it turns three days of conversations into a list you can actually work on Monday.

Coming soon. Lanyard is built and being prepared for its first store release.

Your data
Encrypted on your phone. Nothing sent by default

The booth is free, forever. Scanning, typing a lead in by hand, voice notes, tiering, routing, search and CSV export cost nothing and always will. No account, no cap, and no trial that runs out halfway through a show.

01 · Features

At the stand, and the evening after

01

Nothing is ever lost

A capture is written to encrypted storage on your phone before any feedback fires. If it buzzed, the lead exists. No spinner, no “uploading” that never finishes.

02

Works with no signal

Exhibition halls have terrible wifi. Lanyard never needed it: everything happens on the device.

03

Reads the badge, not just the barcode

Most badges carry an opaque registration ID that means nothing without the organiser. Lanyard also reads the name, company and title printed on the front.

04

One person, one lead

Hold a badge for thirty seconds and it captures once. Two reps scanning the same person makes one lead with two captures, not a duplicate.

05

Voice notes become text

Read three days of conversations instead of replaying them. Transcription runs on the phone itself. The audio never leaves it.

06

Scored against your ideal customer

You set the profile: your industries, the job titles that matter, the words that signal a need. Know which twelve of two hundred to call on Monday.

07

Met them before?

Walk up already knowing you spoke at a show last year.

08

A briefing and a draft, if you ask

Optional, off until you switch them on, and never automatic. The company, the role and your own note go to Google’s Gemini. Never a photo, never the audio, and a briefing is never asked about the person.

09

Your data, out

CSV and vCard whenever you want them, with consent basis and ICP band attached.

02 · How it works

Three days of conversations, one list

  1. Scan

Badge or business card, one tap. It is saved, encrypted, before the phone buzzes.

  2. Say what was said

Hold to record a voice note while the camera stays live. Mark the lead hot, warm or later.

  3. Triage at nine, not at the booth

In the evening, notes become text and leads are scored against the customer profile you set.

  4. Work the list

Export to CSV or vCard and follow up yourself, from your own email.

03 · Straight talk

What it won’t do

Being straight about this is worth more than a longer feature list.

  • It cannot decode every badge. Roughly three in four registration vendors emit an opaque ID that only the organiser’s database resolves. Lanyard captures that ID, photographs the badge and reads the printed face, but nobody’s app can turn an opaque code into an email address on its own.
  • It will not invent a field. If it is not sure, it leaves the box empty and offers what it considered as a suggestion. Wrong data costs more than missing data.
  • It will not send anything on your behalf. No bulk email, ever.

04 · Pricing

What it costs

Everything at the booth stays free, forever. Paid plans are for what happens after the show: cloud backup and sync, transcription, scoring against your ideal customer, recognising people across events, and the optional AI briefing and draft. There is a one-off pass for a single event and a subscription for people who exhibit all year. The store shows the price in your own currency.

05 · Build notes

How it is made

The order of operations is the product. A capture is decoded, checked for duplicates, parsed and committed to an encrypted database, and only then does the phone buzz. A build check refuses to ship if that database is not set to flush every write to disk.

Speech to text runs on the handset with an open model, so a voice recording has no way off the phone. The parser never guesses: below a confidence threshold a field stays empty and the candidates are offered as suggestions. 1,895 unit tests hold all of that in place.

06 · Privacy

Privacy, plainly

The details you scan belong to the person you met, not to you and not to us. The app carries no analytics, no trackers and no advertising identifiers, and on a fresh install nothing you capture leaves the handset. Two things can send lead data, and you switch both on yourself: cloud backup, and the AI briefings and drafts, which are off by default and set out field by field in the full policy, which also explains what all this means for your obligations as well as ours.

07 · FAQ

Good questions

When can I get it?

Soon. Lanyard is built and its first release is being prepared for Google Play, with iOS to follow. There is no store listing yet, so there is no download link here.

Will it read every badge?

No, and no app can. Roughly three in four registration vendors print a code that only the organiser’s database can resolve. Lanyard keeps that code, photographs the badge and reads the name, company and title printed on it.

Does it need an account or a connection?

Neither. It works with no account and no signal. An account only exists if you choose cloud backup.

Does it send follow-up emails for me?

Never. It can prepare a draft, which you edit and send from your own email. There is no bulk send anywhere in the app.

What happens to the voice notes?

They are turned into text on the phone. The audio never leaves the handset under any setting.
