Terms of use

Agent M LLC · Lanyard · Last updated 29 August 2026

These terms cover your use of the Lanyard mobile app. Using the app means accepting them.

01 The app

Lanyard is provided by Agent M LLC. The core of the app — capturing leads, entering them by hand, voice notes, tiering, routing, local search and CSV or vCard export — is free to use, with no account required, and we intend to keep it that way.

02 Your data and your responsibilities

The lead data you capture is yours, and stays on your device. You are the data controller for it. You are responsible for:

  • Having a lawful basis to capture and use another person’s details.
  • Telling those people what you will do with their details, as data protection law requires.
  • Honouring their requests to access, correct or erase what you hold.
  • How you contact them afterwards, including compliance with marketing and anti-spam rules in their jurisdiction.

You must not use Lanyard to collect data unlawfully, to send unsolicited bulk messages, or in breach of the rules of the event you are attending.

03 Subscriptions and one-off purchases

Where paid plans are offered:

  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Manage or cancel yours at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
  • An event pass is a one-off purchase and never renews. There is nothing to cancel. It applies to the single event it was bought for.
  • Prices are shown by the store in your own currency and may vary by region. Payment is taken by Apple or Google, not by us.
  • Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy, not by us. We will help where we can.
  • Everything free stays free. A subscription ending never removes access to capture, manual entry, voice notes, tiers, routing, search or export, and never deletes anything you have already captured.

04 Availability and changes

We may change, add or withdraw features. Where a change removes something you have paid for, we will say so before it takes effect. The app is designed to work offline; we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any online feature.

05 What we do not promise

Lanyard reads badges and cards with automated recognition, which is imperfect. It is designed to leave a field blank rather than fill it in wrongly, but you should check any lead before acting on it. We do not warrant that any scan, transcript or score is accurate or complete.

Many trade-show badges carry an opaque registration identifier that only the organiser’s database can resolve. We make no promise that any particular event’s badges will yield contact details, because that is the organiser’s configuration choice and not something the app controls.

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows.

06 Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Agent M LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost business or lost data, or for your own compliance with data protection law. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

07 Ending it

You can stop using Lanyard at any time by deleting the app; that removes your local data too. We may suspend access where these terms are being breached.

08 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer protection law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
